Oee analysis and its application in a manufacturing facility within the scope of process improvement with the Kaizen approach

With the effect of globalization, the reflect of the competitive conditions that are formed today is increasing. The issue of preventing waste, which is one of the biggest conditions for businesses to continue their activities in rapidly changing market conditions, is gaining more and more importance. It is of great importance for an organization that wants to increase and maintain its competitiveness to meet the current supply and demand, as well as to meet the deadlines given to the customer in all production processes with the least cost and on time. In order for these processes to continue by maximizing efficiency, the philosophy of continuous improvement (Kaizen) used by many businesses today serves exactly this purpose. In this study, the losses detected in the business processes of the enterprise by applying process improvement with the Kaizen approach were examined and the application phase of these processes and the results with Overall Equipment Effectiveness were analyzed. As a result of the study, it was observed that in the improvement works carried out by the company, an increase of 15% was achieved in the production numbers, the number of scraps decreased by 37%, and it was concluded that it is possible and controllable to ensure its continuity. As an example of these results for future studies, it is thought that improvements on the basis of Kaizen can play an active role in businesses.
