Abstract (EN)
Wind energy is an increasingly used renewable energy in electricity production. The efficiency of energy system depends on the selection of appropriate elements and controls. Thus, more efficient, less costly energy production can be achieved by utilizing wind more effectively. In wind energy conversion systems, Permanent magnet synchronous generators compatible with variable speed wind turbines, stand out. These generators can lower electrical losses and increase the overall system performance by reducing dependence on mechanical components. Their capability to operate with high efficiency through appropriate controls has increased their use in wind energy. The control performed by adjusting the operating point of the system in conversion systems according to instant wind defined as the maximum power point tracking control. The main aim is to maintain the efficiency of the system at the highest level according to the instant wind. Modelling studies in computer environment provide analysis of different control methods and choosing the appropriate controls. In this study, basic components of conversion system and basic control methods were explained. Comparative analysis based on different system parameters was carried out by modeling different maximum power point tracking controls in MATLAB/Simulink environment. According to different wind profiles, when control methods not applied, large reductions in system parameters and low production performance were observed. When they applied, the production performance of the system for all techniques was improved. Among these, fuzzy logic control, defined as intelligent control structure, provided more stable and more efficient operation of the wind energy conversion system.
