Özet (EN)
SUMMARYObject: İn this study; locomotor complaints and affect of arthroplastic (use ofcement) surgery researched on pulmonary functions of geriatric patients.Patients and method: Respiration function test have performed onapproximately 100 geriatric patients who planned artroplastic surgery. Half of thepatients have cooperated. Preoperative, postoperative at first week, in 3rd and 6thmonths test results have received on 30 patients. Study has carried out with this 30patients. The patients were between 61 to 88 age group, as 18 female and 12 male.According to indications, modular, bipolar and total joint arthroplasty hasapplied to patients. Respiration function tests; vital capacity (VC), forced vitalcapacity (FVC), in one second forced expiratory volume (FEV 1 ), , FEV1/ FVC, FVCmid phase average(FEF 25-75 ) and peak expiratory (PEF) current (flow) ratios hasmeasured and registered in Preoperative, postoperative first week 3rd and 6thmonths. These values have converted in to percentage form as expected, amonghealthy persons at same age, weight and height. Patient?s hip scores measuredaccording to Harris (modify)hip scale and 3rd and 6th months values registered.SPSS software package has been used for statistical assessment.Findings: Clinically, in spite of there was no respiration problem of patient?s.according to test results function values, combine (restrictive + obstructive) type ofpulmonary pathology has accrued.Preoperative, postoperative, 3rd and 6th month?s values comparedstatistically. During Postoperative period, test results shown negative. But in laterperiod, statistically significant progress has been accrued with help of mobilisationand rehabilitation as solution to locomotor problem.Result: Locomotor system problems have affected geriatric patient?srespiration functions in negative way because of pain and immobilisation. AlsoArthroplastic surgery has negative affects on pulmonary system. But appropriate wayof solution to locomotor problem, affects gaining back daily routine activities andrespiration functions in positive way.
