Abstract (EN)
Calligraphy, which is the means of visual communication, has been shaped in different ages and different civilizations over time, from the cave paintings of its origin, to the needs of people and to the better, the desire to reach beautiful objects. The history of calligraphy takes part in the history of the writing. In this study, the history of calligraphy, from Sumerian to Mesopotamian, Egypt, Chineese thought writings, medieval manuscripts, Ottoman calligraphy, and pre- and post-republic calligraphy interpretations, are considered. Calligraphy styles out of traditional forms such as Abstract Calligraphy, Light Calligraphy, Asemic Calligraphy, Calligraffiti, and other comtemporary forms which are formed with using together different disciplines, artists and their contemporary interpretations are presented with examples. Like other art branches, calligraphy is modernized, reinterpreted, and formed, in other words, in the age of calligraphy. Modernisation according to age of calligraphy like other art branches, reinterpration of calligraphy, and the new experiences emerging are exposed.
