Quality studies in hospitals applyment: Example for the Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of Akdeniz University

Nowadays, the significance of quality is indisputable for any size of hospital. Hospital must take actions to increase their service quality to achieve their goals and to survive in the dense competition environment. For this purpose, hospitals must be able to apply Quality studies and Total Quality Management (TQM) in company management system professionally. In the extent of this study, a case analysis was applied in the hospital of the faculty of medicine which has ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification. Obtained findings showed that Quality studies and Total Quality Management (TQM) have a positive effect on corporate performance and service quality Keywords: Quality studies, total quality management, hospitals.
