Experimantal design in quality improvement and an application

In this study, Experimental Design is described as a quality improvement technique. With this purpose, the place of experimental design in quality, its importance and its development in history are investigated. The structure and properties of the techniques in literature and application in industry are searched. To emphasize the different perspective of Taguchi in Quality, especially Taguchi method and orthogonal arrays are mentioned. The experimental design procedure, which can be applied for a product or a service, is explained. Also the properties and the convenience of the techniques are determined for the different kind of cases. After giving the theoretical knowledge, a quality improvement application, which is examined in industry, is presented. From the results of the analyses performed by Minitab 14 packet program, the factors, which affect the process, and the interactions between them, are found.
