Abstract (EN)

In this study, firstly a series of methacrylate monomers were prepared with sodium methacrylate after the modification with chloroacetylchloride and chalcone compounds that contains the hydroxyl group.The synthesized monomers were firstly synthesized by free radical polymerization technique with homopolymers and then copolymerized with benzylmethacrylate which is a commercial monomer.A new monomer was obtained through the reaction of commercially bought spiropyran derivation and methacryloyl chloride. And with this monomer, copolymer was prepared by using a monomer that contains chalcone. FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR techniques were used predominantly in the characterization of the synthesized polymers.The thermal behaviors of the polymers were measured by DSC and TGA and the results were compared with each other. The contribution of the synthesized polymers to some dielectric behavior of the polar functional groups carried by the polymer was investigated by impedance analyzer depending on the frequency. The activation energies for thermal degradation of the polymers according to the Flyn-Wall-Ozawa method were calculated by using the distortion curves at different heating rates. Photochemical behaviors of polymers that contains chalcone were investigated wavelengths over 300 nm and the studies for photo-cyclo addition were characterized by UV techniques. Composites of 10% and 20% were prepared by using coloring agent spiropyran which behaves photochromic based polymers chalcone and photochromic behaviors in solution was investigated by UV.
