The temperature that occur at surface of part has been investigated during milling of AISI H13 (DIN 1.2344) steel with face cutter mill. Cutting forces and surface roughness were also determined depend on cutting parameters. A fixture was designed and manufactured for experimental study.Two different methods were used for measuring of temperature. Firstly, using thermocouple to measure temperature occurred on work piece. The other one is non-contact method that is used infrared technique to measure temperature occured on chip. The values of chip temperature were studied via by infrared method but efficiently results could not be obtained because of continuous chip and chip removal at high speed. This technique was considered at out of evaluation. So, thermocouple was utilized for measuring of temperature to determine occurred temperature in this study. J type thermocouple which works in the ?200 to 850 °C range was usedIn this experimental work, three different cutting speed (132, 220 and 308 m/min), four different feedrate (0.125, 0.2, 0.315 and 0,5 mm/tooth) and three different dept of cut (1.78, 2.5, 3.5 mm) were selected, thus totally 36 of cutting process were carried out. Surface temperature of workpiece and cutting forces were measured simultaneously while cutting operations were performed. Kistler 9257 B tipi dynamometer was used for determining of cutting force components. In additions, after cutting process surface roughness were measured and chip types have been identified.According to experimental study, it is determined that the most effective parameter is feedrate on altering of values of cutting forces and surface roughness. These values increase with increasing of feedrate as a linear. The values of temperature decrease in inverse proportion with increasing of feedrate. Most low temperatures have been measured at 1.78 mm and 2.5 mm cutting depth, all feedrate values and 220 m/min cutting speed. On the contrary, highest temperature value is measured at the conditions of 3.5 mm cutting depth and 220 m/min and all feedrate except 0.125 mm/tooth feedrate.Key Words : Milling, Tool wear, Tool life, Removed chip volume, Surface roughness, Cutter insert number
