Abstract (EN)

Auscultation of the heart, which is one of the most vital organs together with the brain, is an easy and noninvasive technique used in routine inspections to hear heart sounds and detect arrhythmia. However, auscultation with a stethoscope requires an experienced physician and a good listening. It is aimed to develop a system that can be accessed by any mobile device to help recently graduated, inexperienced physicians interpret heart sounds for diagnosis. In this study, frequency analysis of heart sounds obtained by an electronic stethoscope is performed by sending the data to a server on the internet. Parameters derived by the frequency analysis are classified using artificial neural networks on the server. Frequency analysis results and the classification, together with the heart sound graphics are sent back to the client through the internet. In this way the physician, while listening to the heart by his/her ear, analyzes the frequency and artificial neural network results on the computer simultaneously for better diagnosis. Developed system is not limited to the analysis of heart sounds, but will be able to process other biomedical signals and data in the long term. For this purpose a Content Management System (CMS) compatible with Web 2.0 standards is developed to enable the communication of interested parties.
