Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY İnvestigation of Some Phsicochemical Properties of Calcium Silicate Based Root Canal Sealer Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is endodontik cement that developed from a calcium silicate based portland cement. MTA is used in the apexification, revitalization, apical surgery, pulp capping and repair of root perforations.Due to these superior properties of MTA, a large number of calcium silicate based root canal sealers have been developed.Although there are enough studies in some of them in the literature, there is little information about some of them. In this in vitro study, an epoxy-amine resin based root canal sealer,AH Plus Jet compared with calcium silicate basedfour different root canal sealers (EndoSeal, MTA Fillapex, Tech Biosealer Endo and Well-Root ST), in terms of different physicochemical properties like pH, dimensional change, flowability, hardness and setting time. Tests for solubility, pH, dimensional change, radioopacity, flowability, hardness and setting time were applied to the samples prepared for evaluation of physicochemical properties acording to ISO 6876 (2012) standards. The data obtained were compared using ANOVA and posthoc Tukey HSD statistical tests. The result was that MTA Fillapex hasthe highest solubility, AH Plus Jet has the lowest solubility and only AH Plus Jet meets the solubility criteria of ISO (6876).In both fresh and hard samples, WellRoot ST and Tech Biosealer Endo showed the highest pH value, while AH Plus Jet showed the lowest pH value in both cases. All root canalsealers examined showed expansion, the highest expansion was seen in the MTA Fillapex, and the sealers examined did not meet ISO (6876) standards. AH Plus Jet canal sealer had the highest radiopacity. Tech Biosealer Endo and MTA Fillapex did not meet with ISO (6876) standards for radiopacity. In the fluency test, only the MTA Fillapex meets with ISO (6876) standards. Tech Biosealer Endo has the highest degree of hardness and the shortest setting time. WellRoot ST has the lowest hardness.
