Putting the bills of exchange into circulation on blockchain infrastructure with crypto assets

The subject of our study is whether we can use crypto assets, which entered our lives with bitcoin in 2008 and encountered many different varieties over time when issuing bills of exchange. Crypto assets are gaining existence thanks to blockchain technology. Among the concepts in our law, there are profound similarities as well as severe differences between money, goods, commodities and securities, and crypto assets. In addition, how to evaluate crypto assets regarding the element of consideration in bills of exchange is controversial in the doctrine. For this reason, in this study, research has been conducted on how bills of exchange can be regulated with crypto-assets through the use of blockchain technology, which we frequently hear about with bitcoin together with crypto-assets. While conducting this research, the regulations in both Turkey and international law were addressed. Many questions have been sought to be answered regarding crypto assets, which are highly controversial in law, from the question of their legal nature to the question of which legal rules will be applied.
