Sustainability principles in campus design and burdur Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Campus sample

Many environmental problems that arise today as a result of modern restructuring and architectural revolution are not only on their own but also in economic and socio-cultural areas. The main idea in solving these problems is to ensure the development and preservation of future generations and the earth without fighting and destroying nature, based on the concept of 'Sustainability and Sustainable Design'. It is not enough to realize this understanding functionally only in the architectural designs of our structures; it is necessary for each individual to adapt and live for his or her social life. This is possible with education and training. Educational institutions and non-governmental organizations also play a major role in raising public awareness. Through the 'Sustainable Campus' philosophy that will be run by the universities, energy conservation awareness will be developed in the lifestyles of all the staff, academics and students in the society, and it will be ensured that generations raised with this consciousness will be a collecting example in the future. The use of green energy systems by universities as well as other institutions and organizations is an example of the point of use in society. This will enable all institutions, individual businesses and university campuses to become independent producers of their energy. This will minimize pollution of the ecological environment we live in and the consumption of the earth's natural resources. In the first part of this study, the concepts of university and campus will be defined and the urban criteria in campus settlement will be examined. In the second part, the concepts of 'Survivable Campus' and 'Sustainability in University Campuses' will be examined. In the third part of 'green campus' projects will be transferred to examples in Turkey. In the last part, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University I will examine the İstiklal Campus in order to be an example of thesis position and examine the differences with the 'Green Campus' projects developed today.
