The comparison of the risky structural analysis of the public buildings and the present structural analysis

Abstract (EN)

The evaluation of the seismic performance of an existing building in our country, is presented in the 7th chapter of the Regulation For the Structures To Be Built in Seismic Zones which is published in 2007. In this chapter, it is explained, the required investigations to determine the status of existing structure and determining the performance targets of the structure. To determine the seismic performance of an existing structure, it is required to be known substantially "yapının bilgi düzeyi". In this context, the sizes of structural elements and properties of used materials of the structure should be determined in accordance with regulation. With this data, model of structure is created by the static-concrete software and deformations of structural elements are calculated under the influence of earthquake. In 2013, by the "principles for the identification of high-risk buildings", the rules and methods which will be used for identifying risky buildings were published. Usage of risky structures identification methods should be faster than the rules which are located in DBYBHY. But in public buildings, the analisis is made in accordance with DBYBHY and high-risk structure identification cannot be used. In this thesis, in accordance with data of 15 public buildings, structural modelling is done by Ide-CAD static-concrete software. On these models, comparisons are made between "Linear Performance Analisis" and "Risky Structure Analisis" under the four directional seismic effects and as a result of this comparison, it is found out that damaged elements are very similar in both analisis methods. As a result of this study, faster, practical and reliable results should be obtained by using "Risky Structure Evaluation" about public buildings which have a high percent in our country's total amount of structures.
