Abstract (EN)
The Effect of Work Motivation on Cyberloafing Behavior: The Case of Public Employees This study examines the effect of work motivation on cyberloafing behavior among public employees. Cyberloafing refers to the use of internet and technological tools for personal purposes during working hours, leading to decreased productivity. The research aims to reveal the relationship between this behavior and motivational factors. A quantitative research method was employed, and surveys were conducted with public employees. Data were collected using work motivation and cyberloafing scales. The main hypotheses of the study are: 1. The level of work motivation among public employees influences cyberloafing behavior. 2. Cyberloafing behavior varies according to demographic characteristics (gender, age, marital status, education level, etc.). The findings indicate that employees with higher work motivation exhibit less cyberloafing behavior. Additionally, factors such as age, position, and work experience have significant effects on cyberloafing. This study highlights the importance of motivational strategies to enhance productivity and reduce cyberloafing in public institutions. Managers are advised to develop policies that increase job satisfaction and align employee behavior with organizational goals.
