Özet (EN)

The Covid-19 virus, which was first seen in China in December 2019, quickly spread all over the world and turned into a global pandemic. In Turkey, the first cases of the epidemic were seen in the first quarter of 2020. One of the measures taken against the serious effects of the epidemic in Turkey was the proposal and implementation of a new economic model, which was announced to the public as the "Turkish Economy Model" by the then minister of treasury and finance. This economic model, which aims to increase the investments and export by suppressing interest rates and exchange rates, was announced in December 2021 and implemented until the 2023 general elections. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of Turkey's new economic model on public revenues (the statistical significance, direction and quantitative magnitude of this potential impact). For this purpose, the Ordinary Least Squares time series multiple regression method is applied as an empirical methodology. In the econometric study -within the framework of data availability- the period between 2006 and 2023 is examined, and the data used in the analysis is on a quarterly basis. The findings indicate that the Turkish Economic Model has a positive impact on the central government budget revenues (has an increasing effect on the revenues). Relevant historical data also supports this finding. However, it is difficult to say that the same success has been achieved in other areas targeted within the scope of the Turkish Economy Model and is open to debate.
