Urban crimes in terms of public safety: Example of substance addiction in Kütahya

The existence and effects of drugs have been known by people for thousands of years and they are used for various purposes from society to society. But today, due to many reasons, drug substance problem has turned into a very big problem for humanity that has never been before. It can be said that, the changes that occur in the world's economic, social and technological opportunities and structures are effective on this situation. In addition to raising the variety of drugs and their availability in the marketplace, the existence of new materials derived from the synthesis of chemicals raises the severity of addiction and physical and psychological destruction on the individuals. With the industrial revolution, urbanization has showed rapid change and it also gained a sociological dimension. This situation made it obligatory to take many new precautions in terms of criminal issues and security needs in heterogeneous cities. In international community, there has been signed many consensuses and agreement contracts with the awareness of the treats of drug and drug addiction for the humanity in the last century. In order to struggle with the addiction, the most productive political move has been tried to find by analyzing the views of reasons and results of addiction with the help of studies and searches in the fields of political, legal, sociological, psychological, criminological, biological and geographical. It is necessary to find regional action and strategic plans in the light of global deductions that include general conclusions. Political moves, which are presented by taking into consideration the qualities of the each region, will make the success possible by hindering the loss of time, effort and economy.
