Examination of the professional and institutional belonging levels of relatives of martyrs and veterans appointed to public institutions and organizations

This research, which aims to reveal the institutional and professional belonging levels of martyrs' relatives and veterans employed in public institutions and organisations, was carried out by quantitative method. The population of the research consists of 370 relatives of martyrs and veterans selected by simple random sampling method. The descriptive form and 'Institutional Belonging Scale' and 'Professional Belonging Perception Scale' were used as measurement tools. When the findings obtained in the research are evaluated, it is seen that there is no statistically significant difference in professional and institutional commitment scores according to gender and marital status, but educational status has an indirect effect on the level of belonging, and when evaluated according to the age factor, it is seen that the level of belonging can change according to the age groups of the participants, so there is a statistical difference. Another important finding is that there is no significant difference between the participants' level of belonging to the public institution as a martyr's relative or veteran, that is, the position assigned. It was determined that there was a significant relationship between institutional and professional belonging, and that the participants' institutional loyalty was at a high level and their professional belonging levels were at a medium level. In terms of institutional belonging, it was determined that the trust in the institution where the relatives of martyrs and veterans work and the support provided to them is a very determining factor. According to the results of the research, it was seen that belonging to the organisation and the place was related to institutional loyalty, and factors such as job change, social ties and hobbies were found to be effective on belonging. Research findings are discussed in the context of the subject and recommendations are listed.
