Abstract (EN)

According to the literature, one of the substantial intangible forces that affect performance is organizational culture. As a field of research health care sector has been selected because it is beleived that in this sector organizational culture has intensive impact on organizational performance. The idea leading to this study is that there is relationship between organizational culture and performance based payment system. This study aims at analyzing the relationship between the percieved organizational culture and the performance based payment system perception of the health care staff working at the private and public hospitals. In addition, the differences among the private and public hospitals the subject of the organizational culture have been examined. To examine the research questions two questionnaire survey performed and data collected from 724 health care staff of 3 hospitals which are located in İstanbul are analysed by using SPSS 15 program. In this context, for the culture of the organization Denison Organization Culture Scale; for the performance based payment system scale which are developed by Ali Gazi have been used. This research was conducted in the descriptive approach and the correlative investigation model. The data have been analyzed by using the techniques of descriptive statistics, chi-square test, analysis of reliability coefficient, independent groups test "Mann Whitney U" and spearman correlation test for multiple comparison analysis .In our research findings, it has been seen that public hospitals health care staff perceive the characteristics concerning to the consistency, adaptability and mission extent of the organizational culture predominantly as to perceiving the characteristics concerning the involment extent at lower level; private hospitals health care staff perceive the characteristics concerning to the involment,consistency and mission extent of the organizational culture predominantly as to perceiving the characteristics concerning the adaptability extent at lower level. As a result of this study, it was determined that mission, adaptability, involvement and concistency, which are the factors of Denison' s Coporate Culture Model were significantly associated with performance based payment system. This finding matters in terms of the assessment the relationship between corporate culture and performance based payment system the employees perceived.
