Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research was the evaluation of the physical fitness, nutritional habits, and sport habits of the men and women civil servants.In this reseach 4075 volunteers were admitted to random method from the Elazığ provincial centre, with the distribution of 2823 men (age: 43.5 ± 8.7) and 1252 women (age: 37.7 ± 8.4) civil servants.Body compositions of civil servants were made by the Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technique . Demographic data and personel habits with executed, the healthy life behaviours were derived from ?The Healthy Life Style Behaviors Scale? of Walker& Pender (1987). Data were analised by SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences ) package, with the significance level of p<0.05.It was determined that body compositions health of risk more than near in the men servants. The body compositions, weights, body mass indexs(BMI), waist circumferances (WC) , waist- hip ratio (WHR), mass of body fat (MBF), percent of body fat (PBF) and the number of children of the men and women blue collar civil servants were found higher compared to the other professions (p<0.05). It was observed that the men civil servants smoke more in comparision with women civil servants (Men: 44.6 %, Women: 25.8 %, p<0.05). It was determined that 39.4 % of the men and 24.4 % of the women civil servants had ?obese-I? body type and it was determined that more than half (Men: % 51.5, Women: % 57.7) of the both men and women civil servants perceive their body type as over weighted. 77 % of men and 63 % of women civil servants hadn?t to note diet program. 56 % of men and 93.8 of women civil servants who had a slim body type had no illnesses was another observation. WC was found 96.5 in the men and 82.4 cm in the women. It was determined to daily glass of water consumption 5, tea 8, cola 1. Tea consumption advantage of men servants meaningful differance was found (p<0.05). Exercise habit to be prevalent between men servants and between men and women civil servants from the healthy life style behaviors belongs to health responsability, exercise, nutritional habits and total means score to advantage of work groups (teacher- engineers etc.) who had a higher level of education meaningful differance was found (p<0.05).As a result, the women workers as body type belong to the ?standard? group as for men ?obese-I? group and it is observed that blood pressure and illnesses problems in parallel to rise in body type. Regularly diet habits, exercise and educational level were observed be important factor in controled of weight body.Key Words: Civil Servant, sex, obesity, body composition, healthy life- style behaviors.
