The strategic importance of corporate communication in improvement of the efficiency of public services: The General Directorate of Security, Counter Narcotic units

In this study, it is aimed to make determinations and develop suggestions to reveal and comprehend the importance of corporate communication in units fighting against drug use and trafficking crimes, which is one of the biggest problems of our age, the world and our country. The application and importance of corporate communication, which gathers all communication activities of institutions, including public relations, in the General Directorate of Security, Department of Combating Narcotic Crimes and provincial units, has been examined. The loyalty of the unit personnel to the institution, the corporate culture and image, the establishment of corporate prestige, and communication activities for all stakeholders have been examined in detail. Study; central unit, Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Mersin, Samsun, Diyarbakır and Van, 1929 participants working in the fight against narcotic crimes were completed with a descriptive research, and comments were developed using the SPSS 18 statistical analysis program. As a result of the research, it has been seen that the employees have a positive perception towards the corporate communication of the narcotic units, their corporate belonging is high and they have positive thoughts about corporate reputation. It is evaluated that the findings and suggestions made in terms of narcotics units will benefit both the literature, the institutionalization of the narcotic units and the other units of the police force.
