Abstract (EN)
Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate the antifungal susceptibility of Candida species isolated from blood cultures by microdilution method at Atatürk University Medical Microbiology laboratory. Material and Method: 50 candida species isolated from blood cultures in Atatürk University Medical Microbiology laboratories were included in the study. Antifungal susceptibilities of the species were investigated by microdilution method using a colorimetric method, Sensititre YeastOne (Trek Diagnostic Systems, USA) system. Results: In all candida species, minimum inhibitor concentration (MIC) ranges have been found as follows: for amfoterisin B; 0,12-2 μg/ml, for fluconazol; 0,12-256 μg/ml, for voriconazol; 0,008-8 μg/ml, for caspofungin; 0,015-0,5 μg/ml, for anidulafungin; 0,015-2 μg/ml, for micafungin; 0,0082 μg/ml, for flurositozin; 0,006-8 μg/ml, for posaconazol; 0,008-8 μg/ml, for itrakonazol; 0,015-16 μg/ml. Conclusion: Considering the low MIC values obtained; it has been concluded that anidulafungin, micafungin, caspofungin, flucytosine, posaconazole, voriconazole, itraconazole and amphotericin B may be effective against candida species and may be used as an alternative medicine in the treatment of infections caused by fluconazole resistant species. Key Words: Antifungal, candida, fungal, microdilution method, Sensititre YeastOne, yeast
