Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted as a descriptive study to determine the knowledge level of nurses about blood and blood products transfusion. In our study, a questionnaire of 30 questions was made on 100 health workers in the sections where blood transfusion was applied. All of the participants in the study checked whether the blood group of the patient before transfusion and the blood group of the product and the name of the transfusion follow-up form with the patient's name were the same; whether or not a cross-match has been performed; reported vital signs of the patient before and after transfusion. 46% of respondents have knowledge that blood should be applied under the seat by heating. Transfusion-infected workers, who have been in employment for more than 11 years in the profession, have been told that training should be repeated at frequent intervals because they are known to be at a higher rate than short-term employees.
