Abstract (EN)

Introduction: In our study we aimed that to compare colour preferences refers about cancer on patients which diagnosed cancer and general healty voluntaries, thus we aimed to have an understanding about psychological conditions of cancer patients from this colour choices methods. Patients and Methods: Patients which diagnosed prostate, breast and lung cancer applied in CBÜTF urology, pulmonology and general surgery clinics between Juniary 2015- april 2015. The control group has defined above 18 years old college students. They've been asked ''which colour remains in your mind if you had been told about cancer?'' after socialdemegraphic and illness data (cancer type, prognose, threatment) saved. They have asked to show their color choice on the 9 colour scale which prepeared before. Results: In the control group the most commen choised colours red, black and purple, otherwise in the patient group yellow, red and black were the chosen colours. Patients wich prostate and breat cancer chosed yellow and patients with lung cancer choosed black. Patients which have metastasis mostly chosed black, which ve local rezidue chosed red and patients that cured chosed yellow. Conclusion: It has determined that the cancer sensation associated with red, black and purple colours which remains negative emotions on normal healthy population. Never the less this is not exists on patients with cancer. Yellow means hope and happiness is the colour of their choice if patients would treated and also cured. This study manifests this result; cancer has not a colour. There are colours symbolises the emotional conditionals according to stages of patients which have cancer. The aim should be that to keep patients in yellow colour stage which means hope.
