Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out with the purpose of adolescents, whose parent are cancer, the relationship between family functionality perception and state, trait anxiety level. In the first stage of study related to cancer and its psychosocial effects was performed. The second stage consists of the research intended for relationships between state, trait anxiety level and family functionality perception of children with cancerous parents. The research data were collected by parent imformation form, patent information form, adolescent information form, family assessment device and state trait anxiety inventory. Research was conducted as descriptive in Dr. Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Oncology Education and Research Hospital and Hacettepe University Oncology Hospital between December 2009 and September 2010. Data collection forms were taken from 100 people. It was detected that there was statistically significant relationships between family functionality and the levels of state anxiety (r:0.423; p<0.01) and trait anxiety (r:0.563; p<0.01) of adolescents with cancerous parents, who participated in the research. Besides, it was determined that adolescents, who identified that there is a hardship in the family due to parent?s sikness, considered their family more unhealthy (t:2.324; p<0.05).
