Abstract (EN)

One of the most important critiques against Immanuel Kant's transcendental philosophy is Salomon Maimon's internal criticism. The thesis mainly explores the limits of Kant's metaphysical critique through Maimon's critique. The first main section outlines Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is trying to capture the possibility of metaphysics as a science. The second section deals with Maimon's critique of Kant. What the thesis argues is that Maimon's criticism of Kant is an internal critique. In this sense, the thesis aims to elaborate on Maimon's idea of the idea as the limit-concept which he proposes for the ultimate legitimacy of transcendental philosophy. He also touches upon Kant's transcendental idealism and Maimon's problematic points between dogmatism and skepticism. As a result, the thesis aims to show to what extent Maimon's internal criticism changes the final results of transcendental philosophy.
