In this sense, this study is replying to how the gated community varief and also with this study to develop a typology for the gated communities is aimd.Case study on the 98 numbers of gated community built in İstanbul, is done for how prove the gated community variety and to get the result of typology. In the analysis process, draw benefit from ?releational stratification model? developing by Lebart according to ?releational approach? pioneer by Bourdieu. In conjunction with the ?releational stratification model? discovering the similarity, the opposition and the meaningfull relationship between variables, it achieves categorizing the similarity, and analyzing the oppositions.Instead of categorize as an a priori, the releational stratification achieves typology while discovering the similarity and the oppositions oriented with releational analysis. In the presentation of analyse results, benefits by Bertin graphics which is visual presentation method. This method, achives reading the similarity and the oppositions between characteristics of gated communitie?s qualitatives and quantitatives related to scale. To determine how prove the gated community variety, will give meaning to transformation realized at the production and consumption pattern in postmodern housing market. Keywords: Gated community, housing market in postmodern history, variation in production and consumption pattern, relational stratification
