Transformation of the state in capitalism

It is seen that capitalism has become the main subject matter of most studies relevant to social, political and economic structure since its emergence and in this sense, it has a rich literature. Many studies in the literature have the quality of questioning the capitalist state and the functions of the state structure; besides, it focuses on the changes arising in state apparatus as of period of capitalism. However, the functions of the repression apparatus and its importance are generally ignored in terms of the capitalist system. Although capitalism foresees a structure in which economic and political domains are separated from each other and tyranny is ensured by economic factors, it has needed the existence of non-economic power in almost every period of history and has relied on this power. Hence, the repression apparatus of the state has great importance for capitalism. This study focuses on the transformations that the capitalist economic system has experienced in the state apparatus, functions and repression factor since its beginning and discusses the relationship between the mode of production, the political structure and the repression apparatus from a historical perspective.
