Özet (EN)
The one of the most important elements affecting the manufacturing is cutting tools. The life of cutting tools effects directly to the production cost, surface roughness of the workpiece and cutting forces. In this study, it has been searched tool life of the coated and uncoated cemented carbide tools in the form of SNMG during the turning of AIST 1050 material in the lathe. By the help of experiments which are done, the `n exponential value in the Taylor tool life model was determined. The experiments were done in five different cutting speed (280, 315, 350, 390 and 450 m/min), 0,25 mm/dev constant feed rate and 2,5 mm constant cutting depth under the dry cutting conditions in CNC turning machine. In these experiments, the `n exponential value of Taylor tool life model, `C constant, flank wear, surface roughness and cutting strength have been searched.According to Taylor tool life model, the `n exponential value was calculated in two stages. In the first stage, the cutting speed the tool life (Log V ? Log T) graphs were drawn and calculations were done. The second stage was regression calculation method. Experiments carried out with reference to TSE 10329.As a result, the `n exponential value and `C constant were calculated for coated and uncoated tools. In either graphic or regression method, `n and `C values were found the same. Besides this it was defined that the cutting speed has an important impact on tool life.
