Restoration project of the Kaymakçıoğlu (Kaymakçıgil) Konak'ın Yörük Köyü, Safranbolu, Karabük

This thesis is issued on Kaymakcıoğlu Konağı, one of the examples of the traditional Turkish house built in Yörük Köyü, Safranbolu, Karabük. The aim is to search for an appropriate function by analyzing the present condition and the restoration possibilities of the structure in order to conserve it for the future generations. Safranbolu and Yörük Köyü, the nearby environment and the present condition of the 'konak' is analyzed, and, the original condition of it is investigated by comparative study and historical analysis. Criteria are defined by evaluating the results, and a restoration project in which these criteria are considered with the new function is proposed at the application phase.
