In this study, it is tried to explain how can we utilize from Karacadag which has ahuge amount of stony areas around and what kind of advantages can be get on the issues ofemployment, work force, and production. Specialties of Karacadag is tried to be examined infive chapters.In first chapter, it is mentioned about Karacadag?s general specifications, geographicstructure, ground shapes, general flora in the past and at the present and weather conditions.In second chapter, the economic potential of Karacadag and as a subtitle agriculture,stock breeding and other richnesses of Karacadag is emphasized. Additionally it isemphasized about Karacadag?s winter tourism and winter sports advantages.In the third chapter, it is explained about workings for picking up the stones atKaracadag region in time of former Governor, what can be done in this stony region andfinancial methods. Also the estimated cost of picking up the stones and amortizing period ofthe cleaned region for agriculture is emphasized.In fourth chapter, it is told about the specifications of basalt stones, how they areshaped, their advantages, usage areas, important basalt structure samples, market conditions,and their gains for unemployment and economy.In fifth chapter, it is mentioned about the usages of Karacadağ basalts in architectureand significant constructions which are made of basalts in Diyarbakırvii
