Abstract (EN)
In this study, some physical and chemical properties of Karaçay (Bartın) in relation to water quality was investigated. For this purpose water samples were collected monthly for six months between January 2018-June 2018. Water temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen and flow rate were measured directly in study area whilst chemical analysis for total nitrogen, total phosphorus, nitrite, nitrate and sulfate were carried out in water quality laboratory by means of cell test through a spectrophotometer. Total hardness, salinity and organic matter were determined in accordance with standards methods (APHA, 1995). The results of analysis showed that Karaçay Stream has a good quality of water. According to the general chemical and physicochemical parameters of the overland surface water resources reported in the Superior Water Quality Regulation, concentrations of all parameters (exclusive of total phosphorus III. Class) indicated I. Class (high quality water) water quality for Karaçay.
