Abstract (EN)

In this study, seasonal variation of total lipid, total glycogen and fatty acid composition of Chondrostoma regium, Leuciscus cephalus and Acanthobrama marmid living in Karakaya Dame Lake were examined. It has been determined that the level of the muscle glycogen was became too less than amount of total lipid. Total lipid content did not show seasonal variation for all species (p>0.05). Fatty acid compositions have been determined in muscle tissues of fish by gas chromatography using a mixture of fatty acid standards. Fatty acids compositions were determined between C:14 and C:22. Total percentages of unsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids were higher than saturated fatty acids in four seasons on all selected species. The ration of ?-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids were found to be higher than ?-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids in total polyunsaturated fatty acid composition in all species throughout all year. The ration of eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids were found to be higher in total ?-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids composition of all species in throughout all year. Palmitic acid was determined as fatty acid which has the highest percentage for every season all species.The results indicated that these species were excellent sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids with very high levels of ?-3 fatty acids, especially eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids.
