Abstract (EN)

Karakoçan district is situated in the upper Ephratus area of The Eastern Anatolia. Karakoçan Which is a district of Elazığ Province gained this status in 1936. It has an area of 1085 km2, 89 villages and may quarters.Karakoçan district has a landscape composed of volkanic mountains and platos. These lanlandscapes are shattered by Karakoçan fracture zanes. The golan Thermal Spring takes place above the area of the fractures which fit into one another geometrically. Karakoçan Plain which improves depending on Karakoçan fracture zone and takes place on Karakoçan district is an active tectonic structure. İn Karakoçan average altitude is high. The highest peaks are hills which take place on Kurucadağ volcanicad coni. Karakoçan district entirely joins the drenage area of Peri River. The middle ? wet climate features especially show terrestrial climate specialities. İn Karakoçan oak woods largly occupy. But because of the destruction most of the oak trees lose its speciality. For this reason anthropojen step areas have been broadening day by day.The first settlement habitation goes back to Colcolitic Age but the main habitation increased after Selçuk Era. The clearest feature of settlement is migrations. Nearly in every family two of three people Works as a Worker in Europe. A modern structure has been seen by the help of assists that foreigner landers provide to their relatives. Today there has been considerable migration inside the country. For this reason the population of the country has decreased. Even legal characteristic has gone an, there are some villages that don?t have any population. Karakoçam District is a kind of quarter that has a ?Central Characteristic?. Because of not having developing cities in its environment, in Karakoçan there is a lively trade commercial. The district has been growing planned which has provided its underground face of the earth network considerably.High Plateau has a historical importonce in the district whose economy depends on stockbrecding. Because the country areas has become free, traditional high plateau culture had turned into fort he day high plateau. Even pasture stock breeding had slowly turned into nourishing stock breeding. Even in the district there are some establishments which manipulate animal products in terms of stock breeding economy. Although it has fertile lands, because of the continental climate speciality, agricultural activities ocur in the secont plan. Among the agricultural activities harvested grain agriculture has been done much. These activities are to encounter mostly the needs of families. In addition even they live in the village, there are some families who don?t take care of agricultural and stock breeding activities. These families get by by the help of helps that their relatives provide in abroa.In Karakoçan there are some industrial establishments depending on stockbreeding. But because of the lack of financial condition, in these faundations improvenent which has been hoped, can?t be provided. In Karakoçan there has been a great industry size because there aren?t any big cities near the area bulk. This condition has been evident especially in summer when foreign landers come. Another speciality of this area stems from tourism potential. Kolan Thermal Spring is a basic tourism potential. Kolan Thermal Spring is visited by thousands of visitors every yerar.Among the basic problems of the area are earthquake & mass movements. For this reason village settement areas which are found risky should be changed and earthquake regulations should be obeyed in the buildings. Stockbreeding has got a historical importance. Whereas day by day stockbreeding has been lasing its importance. In addition oak forest has been decreasing day by day and pastures has been spoiling. For this reason forests should be saved, pastures should be improved, stockbrecding should be developed.
