Abstract (EN)

The study area is located about 20 km northwest of Yahyalı (Kayseri). The study is based on the examination of the geochemical characteristics of Karamadazı iron deposits. Iron deposit is skarn type deposit which formed along the contacts of Yahyalı Plüton and Akbaş Formation of the Yahyalı Sequence. In this study, geochemical investigations were carried out major oxide, trace elements and REE and REE spider diagram was drawn by chondrite normalized in the ore samples. According to this, all samples were characterized by positive Eu anomaly, while Ce anomaly presents both positive and negative anomaly. Positive Ce anomaly was indicative of hydrogenous deposits while the negative Ce anomaly was typical to hydrothermal deposits. In addition, the positive Eu anomaly identified in the ore specimens indicates a hydrothermal deposits, while the hydrothermal solution also indicates a sea water mixture. In addition, geochemical and mineralogical investigations were carried out using an X-ray diffractometer analysis (XRD) scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEMEDX) in the ore samples and new information about mineralization was obtained with ore microscopy studies. Fluid inclusions in calcite crystals were observed in numerous and different sizes. As a result, the initial melting temperatures, the final ice melting temperature and the homogenization temperature of the mineralization were measured. Accordingly, in the primary inclusions in calcite; Homogenization temperatures ranging from 75 ° C to 160 ° C (n = 30, mean = 136 ° C) were measured while in secondary enclosures a homogenization temperature was measured between 215 ° C and 240 ° C. According to this, it can be considered that the mineralization is partly telethermal, more epithermal and mesothermal.
