A study on the effect of the dark triad in career preferences

In this study, it is investigated how Dark Triad which is composed of Machiavellianism, narcissism and psychopathy, affects individuals career choices on the axis of Holland's occupational interest. Whether the realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising and conventional career preferences change according to The Dark Triad tendencies of the individuals has been investigated. And whether these changes differ demographically was investigated. In light of the findings, future studies were shed light and some suggestions were given. This study was conducted on the students of Business Administration department. A total of 418 participants participated in the study. 196 of the participants are men and 222 are women. In the study, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model, correlation analysis and multidimensional sampling analysis were used to reach the findings. The reliability of the scales used in the study was confirmed. As a result of testing hypotheses, 4 of 18 hypotheses were supported.
