Özet (EN)

The Karapir-Ortaköy and Akçakışla Plutons are located in the northeastern part of the Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex and consist of granite and monzonite. These plutons cut the Paleozoic Akdağ Metamorphics, which consist of marble, schist, and quartzite, and are unconformably overlain by Pliocene sandstones. In this thesis, petrographic analysis, whole-rock geochemistry, and zircon U-Pb age data were obtained and interpreted to investigate the petrological evolution and geotectonic setting of the Karapir-Ortaköy and Akçakışla Plutons. The granite and monzonite identified through petrographic observations exhibit an alkaline geochemical character and exhibit similar geotectonic characteristics to post-collisional granitoids. U-Pb dating analyses of zircon in granite samples revealed an age range of 67-63 Ma for the Karapir-Ortaköy Pluton, while the Akçakışla Pluton is 63 Ma. These data indicate that the plutons formed during the Late Cretaceous-Early Paleocene period. All analytical data presented here indicate that the Karapir-Ortaköy and Akçakışla plutons formed during the Late Cretaceous-Early Paleocene period, within a tectonic environment contemporaneous with the collision.
