Abstract (EN)
Keywords: Microzonation, Soil Investigations, Local Ground Conditions The past, especially the 1999- Marmara earthquake, the importance and the necessity of the microzonation studies, which consisted of local-scale data on the structure-ground and environmental analyzes before the construction phase, became more prominent. Addition, the microzonation study is considered to be one of the most common methods used to determine the effects of local soil conditions. Addition, these microzonation studies are aimed at correct and regular land use in order to reduce the damage that may occur in the possible earthquakes. The microzonation studies carried out in order to realize the regular and correct use of the land within the framework of a plan are concerned with the creation of geographically, geophysically and geotechnical factors against the earthquake effect and the creation of economic, social and political compatible and usable zones by combining these data. Prior to the determination of the areas to be opened for reconstruction, performing these studies and conducting the necessary ground investigations will reduce the risk in case of an earthquake. Karasu district contains saturated sandy soils, soil investigations are very important for this region Drilling results were used as point data in the study area. In order to achieve this goal, the ground survey reports on the parcel basis were examined and a database was prepared with the information collected from the field and laboratory test studies presented in these reports. In addition to these reports, geophysical, geological and geotechnical information has been compiled. The geographical locations of the drilling locations in each report were identified and transferred to the database. This database is associated with a geographic information system-based software for the workspace; groundwater level (YASS) maps, SPT-N maps based on depth, VS wave velocities were prepared. Also, maps showing the distribution of floor profiles throughout depth. maps showing engineering reviews were created. As a result of these analyzes, the borders of the risky regions were determined by considering the local ground conditions in terms of analysis and settlement of the Karasu district. In addition to these, interpretations were made including the estimation of the regions that can be damaged in a possible earthquake in the areas where the building is located. As a result of the researches, the general lines of the study areas were transferred to the digital environment and the geophysical, geological and geotechnical data were evaluated by using the Geographic Information System software Map Info program hasbeen used at all stages from the first phase to the last stages of the study. Within the scope of this study; The advantages of geographic information systems for end-users are discussed.
