Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to compare the Karate athletes' levels of Trait Anxiety, Emotional Intelligence and Personality properties according to various variables. The study was carried out on February 17-19, 2017 in Sofia, Bulgaria with 20 men and 20 women athletes from Turkish karate national team athletes participated in the Junior, Cadet and U21 European Karate Championship. "Personal Scale" which is Turkish adapted by Atak (2012), "Continuous Anxiety Inventory (CAI) which is Turkish adapted by Öner and Le Compte (1983), "Schutte Emotional İntelligence (EQ)" which is Turkish adapted by Tatar, Tok ve Saltukoğlu are used to collect data for reliability and validity of the research. SPSS package program was used in analyzing the data. As the number of participants in each group is less than 30, the requirements for parametric tests are not met. For this reason, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and nonparametric Mann-Whitney (U) test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used with SPSS program. According to the findings, it can be said that the level of trait anxiety of karate athletes is moderate. Moreover, it can be said that the anxiety levels of the athletes in the category U21 have the highest average score. It is understood that the Evaluation of Emotions is a significant difference between the sub-factor scores according to the age of the sport and that this difference is favored by the athletes with a higher average of the line and 10 or more athletes. It can be said that emotional stability is a significant difference in favor of female athletes who have a higher average rank among male and female athletes. In addition, there is a significant difference between male and female athletes in favor of female athletes with a higher rank average in Extraversion subscale.
