Abstract (EN)

The most frequently preferred coating type in our country and in the world due to the cost factor is surface coatings. Although the inital construction cost of surface coating applications is low, operating costs are high due to routine maintenance and repair work. Surface Coatings require renewal after a certain period of time. Additional cost increases occur because bitumen used in road construction is imported from abroad and deterioration in surface coatings causes the need for renewal. In order to avoid these costs and increase the surface coating life and performance, studies have begun on modifying bitumen By modifying the bitumen, gravel and bitumen adhere more strongly and gravel losses in the coating are prevented. By reducing the viscosity of the mixture, its workability is facilitated and fatigue strength is increased. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of using modified bitumen additives on surface-paved highways, which prevent friction, strengthen adhesion, increase compaction and improve physical performance on deteriorations and slipperery roads due to traffic load, climate conditions and environmental effects. The demonstrate this situation, some experiments were carried out in a laboratory environment with two types of modified bitumen and two types of aggregate. As a result of the experiments, the increasing effects of modified bitumen on adhesion strength and peel strength in different aggregate and bitumen classes were observed.
