Investigation of the effect of improving road pavement types on traffi̇c acci̇dents (Kastamonu example)

The aim of this thesis is to examine, the traffic load, climate and the types of deterioration that are inevitable in the pavement over time, to explain the maintenance and repair methods and to reveal the effect of improving the road pavement pavement on traffic accidents with statistical data. Within the scope of the study, maintenance, repair and improvement works on road pavement pavements are explained in detail according to the types of deterioration in order to reduce the occurrence of accidents and increase traffic safety. The most important feature of the pavement in the prevention of traffic accidents is the slip resistance of the road surface. Within the scope of this study, surface coating work, bituminous hot mix work, road surface roughening work carried out to increase the friction resistance on three different roads, which cause different deteriorations such as rutting, polishing, vomiting, which cause a decrease in the slip resistance on the pavement pavement surface, were examined with the example of Kastamonu and the traffic The effects on accident statistics were examined. It has been revealed that the existing methods to increase the serviceability of the road and to prevent traffic accidents are successful, but the road is negatively affected in some aspects, therefore new methods are needed, and the microsurfacing application, which has just started to be tried in our country, has been explained.
