Abstract (EN)

Brake systems are very important for automobile and other vehicles. These systems provide to stay in control of the automobile. Brake linings are the most important parts in the brake systems. Optimum conditions are required to provide expected friction performance and wear resistance of brake lining materials. From a brake lining, it is proposed that it has maximum friction and minimum abrasion for expected a brake lining and it is not harmful for the human health and environment. Performance of braking lining in the during braking has been changeable due to friction or braking lining has been undergone to mechanical deformation due to excessive temperature. In this study, brake lining samples were prepared with carbon fiber materials. In three different lengths (5, 7.5 and 10 mm) of carbon fiber is used. The samples the friction test was performed on the cast iron disc. Friction coefficient and temperature graphics were obtained from the samples after the experiment.
