Abstract (EN)
Cardan shafts are systems that are used widely for power transmission in the industrial field and especially in the automotive sector. For this reason, many studies and research have been carried out on shafts and gears. In this study, computer-aided design and analysis of sliding type involute spline shaft and coupling that are supplied from an organization in the sector were performed. Firstly, the design of the spline and coupling are identified in accordance with the EN-5480 standard. A three-dimensional solid model was created in a computer environment using the PTC Creo program with the identified spline profile dimensions. The modeled geometry was transferred to the Ansys program, which operates using the finite element method. Von Mises stress, total deformation, and fatigue analysis were performed by simulating the working conditions. In the analyses consisting of 6 different samples, the tooth fillet radius and face width were changed and the results of the analyses were compared. Finally, the results of analyses were interpreted and it was determined if the system was compatible with the conditions of use, and suggestions were made for its development.
