Abstract (EN)
Organizational commitment keeps on taking attention of academicians and managers for the last 40 years. Organizational commitment is a valuable concept for the organizations because of the thought that it causes a positive effect on the employees? behaviour. Furthermore, it is assumed that the employees, who feel commitment to his/her organization, have a lower rate of intention to leave his/her job and absenteeism so organizational commitment becomes a focus subject. Although there are many studies to determine the factor that affect organizational commitment, there are not many about the relation between career development support and organizational commitment. The aim of this study is to make contribution in this manner and to view the relationship between the career development programmes? practices according to the comparison between organizations that have these programme practices or not.In this study a questionnaire is used as a data collecting method to determine if the organizational career development support has an effect on organizational commitment or not.The questionnaire include demografic variables, expressions about career development support and a scale to measure the employee?s the organizational commitment. This scale is called ?Three Dimensional Organisational Commitment Scale? that developed by Meyer and Allen and its realibity and validity are done. The research universe is consisted of the employee?s of two textile organisations. It is amied to determine if there is a relationship between organizational commitment and career development support and if there is difference between the organizational commitment levels of the employees in the organizations that have career development programme applications and the ones that have not these applications or there is not.
