Abstract (EN)
Developments in technology and construction materials had led to high rise buildings, current life styles have caused the need of multiple functions in constructions, especially in terms of security precautions and cost, reinforced concrete has been the reason for preference. Considering the increase in the number of high - rise buildings in the world and in our country, the diversity of systems in use and the number of buildings made by using reinforced concrete in our country, it has become necessary to evaluate high - rise buildings in terms of structural system, design, function and construction materials. Reinforced concrete structures have been investigated due to high usage rate of reinforced concrete in our country. The present study titled: "Examination of low - rise and high - rise, multi -functioned buildings with reinforced concrete material in structural solution and the evaluation of these buildings in today's conditions" consists of four parts. In the first section, which is introduction; subject area is introduced, purpose, scope and methods of the study are described. In the second section, which is named "Definitions and historical development"; description of materials and historical development of concrete is mentioned by explaining advantage and disadvantages of reinforced concrete structures in comparison to other structures. Definitions of reinforced concrete structure elements and construction systems, high - rise buildings are made including historical development of high concrete buildings and functions of multi - functioned buildings. Third section is named "The examples and evaluation of low - rise, high - rise, and multi - functioned buildings with reinforced concrete in structural solution". Construction examples which were built and completed with reinforced concrete material after 2005 in the world are addressed and examined in terms of structural system. General design information, functions, and peculiarities of buildings, are explained. These examples are compared with each other. Examples of different structural solutions by using reinforced concrete and advantages of these solutions are mentioned as well. In the conclusion section, through the examination of construction examples and in the light of the information gained in the design of the high structures with reinforced concrete and selection of the structural system; inferences from low and high - rise building sections, and multi - functioned structures with reinforced concrete have been shared.
