11 FAUNA OF NEUROPTERIDA (INSECTA) OF THE PROVINCES KARS, ARDAHAN AND İ?DIR (Ph. D. Thesis) İsmail ARI GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY August 2004 ABSTRACT In this study, 1068 specimens, 5 of them belong to Raphidioptera, 1063 of which belong to Neuroptera, were collected from Ardahan, İğdır, and Kars beween May - September in 2001 - 2003. At the end of the identification of these specimens, it was determined that they belong to 1 species of 1 genus of Raphidiidae of the order Raphidioptera, and 65 species of 39 genera of 7 families of the order Neuroptera. Synonyms, morphology, phenology and ecology of each one of total 66 species determined from research place are given. Distribution of each species has been dealth with in two categorises in Turkey and in the World. It was determined that 4 species namely Dichochrysa ventralis of Chrysopidae, Micromus lanosus of Hemerobiidae, and Deutoleon turanicus, Distoleon luteomaculatus of Myrmeleontidae are new record for the Turkish Neuropteridan insect fauna.
