A minstrel within the context of the minstrelsy tradition of Kars province: Ensar Şahbazoglu

In this study, Ensar Sahbazoglu, a minstrel who came up in the tradition of minstrelsy tradition of Kars province and popular culture, was studied. With his acts against keeping cultural integrity and with his practices related to popular culture, the minstrel Ensar Sahbazoglu has a different position in the minstrelsy tradition of Kars. Sociocultural changes that technological and economic developments created in human life have an effect on the minstrelsy tradition of the region. This effect has enabled the tradition of minstrelsy to continue sometimes by undergoing change and transition. The minstrelsy Ensar Sahbazoglu, the most important example on which change and transition have been reflected, has a remarkable position from this aspect. In this study, Teaching and learning process of the tradition in terms of main factors, the importance of the transition and the continuity of the tradition in the process of the Kars minstrelsy tradition,; minstrel-audience relationship; performance areas of minstrels; performance behaviours and musical dimension of the tradition were investigated in the axis of Minstrel Ensar Sahbazoglu, one of the most important minstrels of the region.
