Abstract (EN)

The Oghuz people, who started to settle in Anatolia from the eleventh century, gradually formed a written language based on their own dialect features. Some works of this period, written especially in the second half of the twelfth century and the first half of the thirteenth century, commonly known as Old Anatolian Turkish include the linguistic features of Oghuz Turkish as well as the linguistic features specific to Eastern Turkish. Many studies have been conducted in which the phonetic and form features of these works, described as "mixed language", have been examined in detail. However, the number of studies on the vocabulary of mixed language works is very few. In this study, carried out in order to eliminate the deficiency in this field, among the mixed language works, Behcetü'l-Hadâik fi Mev'izati'l-Halâik, Kıssa-i Yusuf, Ferâiz Kitâbı, some Turkish poems of Mevlânâ and a poem of Şeyyâd Hamza were selected to be examined in terms of vocabulary. First of all, the determined works in mixed language were scanned and 4890 items were determined. The meanings and grammar tasks of the words in the works were determined based on the context in the text. The words, whose meanings and functions were determined, were classified into sub-headings according to their subjects and grammar tasks and were listed alphabetically. Then, by giving examples from the texts examined, the uses were tried to be concretized. In addition to this classification of meaning and grammar, statistical data reflecting the frequency of witnessing the words mentioned in the examined works were also included. According to this, the frequency of witnessing the detected 4890 items are 35682 under the title of Nouns According to Their Subjects, 43549 under the title of Special Nouns and Grammar Items, 16938 under the title of Verbs According to Their Subjects, 7147 under the title of Auxiliary Verbs, 385 under the title of Stereotypes and Respect Expressions, 96 under the title of Verses, Suras and 50 under the title of Foreign Language Words-Phrases. The total vocabulary detected in the study is 103847. Keywords: Vocabulary, Mixed Language Works, Vocabulary of Mixed Language Works, Old Anatolian Turkish, Oghuz Turkish
