Abstract (EN)
There is a burial tradition in Turkish societies that has survived from previous periods. After the Turks' conversion to Islam, especially in the Ottoman period, this tradition from the past combined with Ottoman decorative arts, stonework, literary texts and calligraphy, and produced unique examples. They are important examples of works of art in terms of the engravings on the tombstones. In addition, it is a historical document in terms of the content of the writings in its inscriptions. In this study, thirty-three tombstones belonging to twenty tombs in the tomb of Türbe Mosque located in Çatalzeytin district of Kastamonu province were examined. The tombstones examined belong to the 19th and 20th centuries. The tombstone inscriptions were written in Ottoman, and thuluth, ta'lik and rik'a were used as writing styles. While the tombstones are being examined, the information given about the person, the physical condition of the tombstone, the forms of the tomb and tombstones, the type of material used, the preferred writing style in the inscriptions, the objective, geometric and herbal ornaments on the tombstones, etc. artistic works are taken into account. As a result of the examinations, the tombstones show similar characteristics to the tombstones in the surrounding towns and regions. In terms of the texts that are the subject of the inscriptions, the materials used, the headline styles used for men, the types of hills used for women, the writing styles preferred in the inscriptions, the decoration elements used on the tombstones, etc. In terms of the features of the tombstones found in the surrounding regions, it shows a great similarity. According to the information obtained from the inscriptions, it has been determined that there are many family names in the identity information of the tombstones found in the tomb of the Tomb Mosque. When viewed as a professional group, only captaincy stands out.
