11 ABSTRACT In this study, the aim was to investigate the parents' selection and the state of buying toys for their children aged 0-2 who live in center Kastamonu. For this aim an guestioneire form was developed to be applied to the parents. This form was applied to 202 mothers and 202 fathers who had children aged 0-2 and who lived in center Kastamonu. As a result of the data analysis of the application, the rate in the difference and criterias of the toy selection and the state of buying toys have been identified. Within the findings of the study, the parents buy toys without grading according to the sexes, the toys are mostly bought in markets and toy shops, and the most difficulty faced is the small amount of the variety. Also, most parents don't buy toys like guns and riffles, the effect of the advertisements in buying toys is very low, when the income of the parents increase the amount they pay for toys increase as well, most parents consult to the sales staff about the selection of the toys and the parents tell eachother their experiences are some of the important results of the study.
