Abstract (EN)

As in the world, various environmental problems arise from the inefficient use of resources due to production and consumption in our country, and the concept of sustainability has also become important with the limited use of natural resources. Circular economy should be adopted instead of linear economy. For this reason, it is of regional importance to investigate the possibilities of industrial symbiosis for the applicability of the concept of sustainability in the circular economy. In this thesis study, industrial symbiosis possibilities of the wastes of the sectors in the Organized Industrial Zones, which operate in a planned manner in the world and in our country, were examined. In this context, an industrial symbiosis possibility research has been conducted for the use of wastes resulting from the production activities of the sectors in Kastamonu OIZ, Tosya OIZ and Seyçiler OIZ operating in Kastamonu province as raw materials by the specified sectors. In this context, the industrial symbiosis possibilities identified and the sectors emerging in the position of need of each OIZ were determined. Among the sectors in which the possibility of industrial symbiosis is being investigated, "water collection, treatment and distribution" in Kastamonu OIZ, "waste collection, reclamation and disposal activities in Tosya OIZ; recycling of materials", "wood wool, wood flour, wood shavings, wood chip manufacturing" sector came to the fore in Seyçiler OIZ. The economic benefits of industrial symbiosis studies for organized industrial zones and suggestions for efficient resource use have been stated.
